Toothsi parent MakeO raised $16 M from 360 ONE Asset, others
MakeO, the parent company of skincare line Skinnsi and dental tech startup Toothsi, has raised $16 million in a funding round headed by Ashish Kacholia’s investment office and 360 ONE Asset.
The co-founders of Medlife’s family office, Eight Roads Ventures, and Paramark Ventures, who were already investors, also joined the round.
MakeO raised $40 million in a Series C round led by Eight Roads Ventures, IIFL, Paramark, and others in May of last year. To date, it has raised $90 million through debt and equity rounds.
The company plans to scale its experience centers across the nation and broaden its geographic reach with the additional funding.
Arpi Mehta Shah, Pravin Shetty, Manjul Jain, and Anirudh Kal founded MakeO in 2018. Initially, MakeO was an aligner brand called Toothsi, but it later combined its two flagship brands, Toothsi and Skinnsi, to launch makeO in September 2022. It now offers skin, hair, and dental care services under one roof.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli were also signed on by the company to serve as brand ambassadors. With a range of services including clear aligners, laser hair removal, acne treatment, anti-aging, and teeth whitening, among others, MakeO says it has provided services to over 150,000 clients.
At the moment, the platform employs over 600 dental professionals, including over 100 orthodontists and internal dentists.
MakeO increased its scale by 5.3X to Rs 78.45 crore in FY22 from Rs 14.6 crore in the previous fiscal year (FY21), even though it has not yet submitted its annual financial report for FY23.
