Transcelestial raised $10 M to expand in the US, SEA
According to Transcelestial’s CEO and co-founder Rohit Jha, having access to the internet “may be a question of livelihood.” As a result, the business will use its most recent US $10 million fundraising to expand Centauri, its wireless laser communication technology, to five important regions in Southeast Asia and India.
With participation from Kickstart Ventures, Genesis Alternative Ventures, and Wavemaker Partners, the series A2 investment round was led by Airbus Ventures. Transcelestial has raised a total of $24 million in US dollars thus far.
The business wants to increase its presence in the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. Transcelestial will install Centauri systems, which will provide 4G, home and office internet, and campus connectivity, in these locations in collaboration with telecom, ISP, and corporate partners.
Moreover, it will utilise the cash to enter the US and investigate working with influential figures in the business, government, and telecom sectors in a few states.
The business will also strengthen its Terabit Foundry in Singapore. The factory has the capacity to create up to 2,400 Centauri devices yearly, which gives it the highest deployment volume of any laser communications manufacturer worldwide.
Utilizing Centauri eliminates the need for subterranean cables or radio frequency-based equipment and enables high-speed internet and communication through a laser beam.
