Upskilling Platform Weskill has raised an undisclosed sum from strategic investors and high net worth individuals (HNIs) in a pre-seed funding round valued at Rs 40 crore.
Weskill stated in a press release that the new funding would be used to improve state-of-the-art AI-powered learning ecosystems and accelerate its growth.
Prashant Prakash Dubey founded Weskill in November 2023 with the goal of bridging the growing skill gap between conventional college education and the constantly changing needs of the industry. By using AI to provide career counseling and customized training modules, the platform hopes to eliminate the problems caused by a misalignment between academic curricula and real-world job requirements, increasing the efficacy, accessibility, and industry relevance of upskilling.
Weskill claims that in order to guarantee top-notch experiential learning, it has partnered with a number of multinational corporations (MNCs) and prestigious universities, such as EICT and IIT Guwahati. The platform is able to provide undergraduate students and early-stage professionals with industry-relevant training through these partnerships, giving them the tools they need to succeed in corporate settings.
Weskill claims to have helped more than 170,000 students improve their career paths by creating an AI-based career counseling and mock interview platform in addition to its upskilling programs. It is dedicated to revolutionizing education, empowering learners, and developing the skills that employers will need in the future.
With a strong emphasis on AI integration, cutting-edge teaching strategies, and deliberate industry partnerships, Weskill plans to increase its influence over the next two years by upskilling and mentoring more than 600,000 students throughout India.
Its competitors include the leading upskilling companies, including Scaler, Simplilearn, and Coursera (a global player).
