In a Series A investment round, SmartRyde, a worldwide airport transfer marketplace based in Japan, raised US $1.6 million.
Angel Bridge (lead), SG Incubate, Yamaguchi Capital, SMBC Venture Capital, Hiroshima Venture Capital, Iyogin Capital, Inventum Ventures, Shouji Kodama, Nobuaki Takahashi (NOB LLC), and Optima Ventures were among the investors.
It is establishing a marketplace to connect local transportation providers with internet travel companies (OTAs). It has partnered with over 650 transportation companies and over 25 online travel agencies as of August 2021, including big worldwide players like Booking.com, Expedia, Trip.com, Traveloka (Indonesia), and Despegar (Argentina).
On the demand side, it will improve system integration with OTAs, while on the supply side, it will develop a booking management system for transportation operators and encourage digital transformation.
