Vahan.ai acquires L.earn, obtained strategic investment from LemmaTree

Temasek-founded investment firm LemmaTree has announced a strategic investment in Vahan.ai, a platform for hiring blue-collar workers. In addition, Vahan.ai has purchased L.earn, GoodWorker’s digital learning and upskilling platform, which was supported by LemmaTree.

The majority of the money raised will go into improving Vahan.ai’s in-house technology stack, which will include creating cutting-edge AI features specifically suited for extensive, multilingual hiring.

The Bengaluru-based business claims that adding L.earn to its portfolio strengthens its talent set. L.earn offers vernacular, mobile-first content for frontline and freelance workers in industries including manufacturing, retail, and logistics. Through the direct integration of modular skilling trips into the job-search process, Vahan.ai will enable employees to enhance their employability, gain access to higher-paying positions, and establish enduring careers.

By 2030, 70% of India’s new job growth is expected to come from the blue-collar sector, per market research. With blue-collar jobs expanding at a rate of 5.7% per year, this sector is also seeing wage rises.

Over a million workers have been placed by Vahan in over 920 cities, and the company presently helps firms like Zepto, Swiggy, Blinkit, and Zomato place about 40,000 workers each month.

In order to give job searchers in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets greater access, the portal intends to add support for eight more Indian languages. Along with expanding its presence in India and a few other foreign countries, like Southeast Asia and the MENA region, Vahan.ai also hopes to enter new, high-growth industries.

Vahan fills in language obstacles, infrastructure, and digital literacy gaps. Its central component is a voice-based AI recruiter—powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o—that can converse with job searchers in Hindi and English like a human over a basic phone call. Through the removal of conventional obstacles like digital literacy, language, and infrastructure, our AI layer expedites the hiring process from job discovery and application to interview scheduling.

Vahan has raised $23.7 million so far from Khosla Ventures and other sources.
