Village Capital, Moody’s Foundation launch investment readiness accelerator programme ‘Greentech 2024’

An accelerator program for investment readiness called Greentech 2024: The Future of Sustainability has been introduced by Village Capital and Moody’s Foundation.

Since 2012, Village Capital has operated in Africa by executing more than 14 accelerator programs. Village Capital provides early-stage companies with the critical financial and social capital they need to maximize their business and impact growth.

Greentech 2024 is a project of Village Capital, in collaboration with Moody’s, a global risk assessment company that helps businesses make better decisions. Its goal is to advance sustainable and innovative solutions, actively promoting resilience and reducing the effects of climate change throughout Africa.

As part of a larger global initiative that also includes Latin America and Asia, the program will help scale up and support startups that are addressing the effects of climate change through ways like reducing waste and pollution, enhancing nutrition and agricultural practices, minimizing environmental damage, preserving and protecting natural resources, and providing access to water, sanitation, and universal health care.

Applications are being accepted from local startups in the following areas: cleantech and climate tech, agri-tech and food security, circular and regenerative economy, natural resource management, water, sanitation, and health. The goal of the call for applications is to hasten the transition towards sustainable development.

Applications are open until May 10.
