Visa and CIB’s “She’s Next” competition awards $10K grants to three Egyptian startups

After placing in the top three of the She’s Next competition, which was sponsored by Visa and Commercial International Bank (CIB), three Egyptian startups were given US $10,000 each.

As part of its mission to assist women-owned businesses in going digital, Visa launched She’s Next. In collaboration with CIB, the competition drew over 4,000 entries from all over Egypt.

Green Fashion founder Hadeer Shalaby, Reme-D founder Salma Tammam, and Fincart founder Nihal Ali were the three entrepreneurs who emerged victorious. The winners were chosen at an award ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Cairo West. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provided grants totaling US $10,000 to each of the winners, in addition to a year of business coaching.

“Visa is truly honoured today to recognise the incredible resilience and forward-looking spirit of Egypt’s women entrepreneurs, and we are more than proud to empower these trailblazers, addressing their unique challenges and fostering an environment where they can thrive,” said Leila Serhan, Visa’s senior vice president and group country manager for the North Africa, Levant and Pakistan (NALP) region.

“This initiative addresses the importance of access to capital, mentorship, and a robust digital infrastructure for the growth and scalability of women-led businesses. We extend heartfelt congratulations to the She’s Next winners in Egypt and eagerly anticipate supporting them in their entrepreneurial journeys.”
