Vow raised $49.2 M Series A funding from Blackbird, Prosperity7 Ventures
Vow, an Australian cultured meat company, has raised US $49.2 million in a series A round that was co-founded by Blackbird and Prosperity7 Ventures. In the history of the cultured meat industry, according to Vow, it was the largest series A round.
The company also revealed the launch of Morsel, its first brand, which will emphasize “culinary artistry” and start delivering Japanese umai quail to Singapore’s fine-dining establishments early in 2019. Only private tastings will be held by Morsel for the time being.
Vow is a company that produces sustainable cultured meat using animal cells and was founded in 2019 by George Peppou and Tim Noakesmith. In order to achieve this, the formula is “grown” in a climate-controlled cultivator while collected cells, micronutrients, and other ingredients are added.
The new investment will be used to hasten the company’s expansion.
By 2028, the market for cultured meat will be worth $319.8 million, growing at a compound yearly growth rate of 10.2%.
