Wedding services startup Meragi raised $9.1 Mn from Accel
The startup Meragi, which provides wedding services, has raised $9.1 million in a new funding round headed by Accel and including Peak XV Partners and Venture Highway as existing investors.
Meragi was a member of Peak XV’s Surge accelerator program’s eighth cohort.
According to a press release from Meragi, the money will be used to open partner venues and experience centers, grow into new cities, and venture into more recent product categories like catering and venues.
Meragi, a contemporary wedding-related company co-founded in 2021 by Mukund Mohan Raj, Abhinav Chandran, and Lakshminarayan B, offers services like décor, makeup, hairstyling, mehendi, catering, venue, entertainment, and invitations. Users can find, create, and buy these goods and services for a range of lifestyle occasions on the platform.
It also provides destination wedding packages in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chikkamagaluru, Goa, and Coorg.
According to the Bengaluru-based company, it delivered 3,000 events last year, recorded gross merchandise value (GMV) of Rs 48 crore, and plans to double this amount by the end of FY25. This year, it plans to expand to Jaipur and Gurugram, with a typical customer base of 25 to 35 years old.
Shaadilogy, Shaadi Baraati Event Management, Weddingz.in, Wedding Cloud, and other noteworthy startups are also in this field.
