Zerodha triumphs over Flipkart in UPL 2024

In Bengaluru, Zerodha emerged victorious from the second Unicorn Premier League (UPL) against Flipkart, a margin of six wickets.
Zerodha won the toss and chose to bowl to begin the game. The choice proved wise as Flipkart was only able to score 88 runs in 11 overs. Vishal led the Flipkart scoring team with 42 runs in 24 balls. Zerodha completed the match in just 8.2 overs while chasing the target. With 35 runs off 16 balls, Rajesh led the Zerodha scoring leaders. Marvin and Ashith came in second and third, respectively, with 22 and 19 runs.
Devesh from Meesho was named the Purple Cap winner for taking the most wickets (10) during the tournament, while Yashas Kartik from Pine Labs won the Orange Cap for making the most runs (249). Zerodha’s Tanzil won the Player of the Tournament title with an overall total of 142 runs and 8 wickets.
The manufacturer of electric scooters, Bounce, gave an electric bike to the winners of the Purple and Orange Caps. The winner of the Player of the Tournament award received a Hyundai Xcent vehicle, courtesy of the pre-owned car retail platform Spinny.
Razorpay defeated Meesho by 31 runs to take third place in the tournament. Razorpay scored 89 runs in 11 overs while batting first. Meesho was only able to score 58 runs in reply.
On February 16, 2024, the second UPL season got underway. Top unicorn startups in India, including Groww, Flipkart, Pine Labs, BoAt, Razorpay, Zerodha, and several others, participated in the tournament. The cricket competition was sponsored by Pavilion and Probo.
Following the finals game, prominent figures from the startup scene attended the closing ceremony, including Keshav Dhakad from Flipkart, Shradha Sharma of YourStory, and co-founder of Razorpay Shashank Kumar.
