10-min ambulance service starting from Gurugram launched by Blinkit

Zomato’s rapid commerce division, Blinkit, which is well-known for its 10-minute grocery delivery, has expanded into emergency medical services. The platform promised a 10-minute response time for urgent medical requirements when it launched its first ambulance service in Gurugram today.

Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, announced this project on X.

Five ambulances make up the service’s initial fleet, each outfitted with cutting-edge medical equipment like oxygen cylinders, automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), and necessary medications. To guarantee prompt and expert service, the business states that a qualified driver will be accompanied in each vehicle by paramedics and helpers with training.

Blinkit hopes to address the long-standing inefficiencies in conventional ambulance services, which are frequently criticized for their exorbitant costs and delays, with this effort.

Dhindsa emphasized the venture’s social focus, stating, “We will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term.”

Blinkit has made it simpler and quicker for its users to receive emergency medical services by including ambulance booking into its app. The action might upend the ambulance industry and establish new standards for urban healthcare.

Over the next two years, Blinkit intends to expand its ambulance service to additional large cities.

The business will face competition from companies such as MeduLance, Dial4242, and Red.Health.
