1,000 employees being let go by Amazon India: Reports

According to reports, a source has confirmed that Amazon India has started the process of cutting off close to 1% of its workforce.

There are thought to be 1,000 impacted employees out of Amazon’s over 100,000 employees nationwide.

The insider stated that the transition would be finished by next week and that it will impact positions in marketplace operations, HR, and a few tech functions. Depending on employee duration, the corporation will provide “generous” severance payouts.

The employment layoffs at Amazon are a part of a global restructuring that CEO Andy Jassy announced last week. The job cuts in India are among them.

E-commerce, internet, data, and payments are just a few of the services the corporation provides throughout the nation.

For FYE 2022, it reported a 30% rise in revenue and a 17% decrease in losses in India.
