$100K FINCA Ventures Prize competition open for applications

This year’s FINCA Ventures Prize competition, which will give grants of up to US $100,000 to solutions addressing global poverty, is open to African social entrepreneurs.
FINCA Ventures is the impact investing division of the non-profit microfinance organization FINCA International, which has been fighting poverty for over 40 years. It supports early-stage businesses in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America that are involved in agriculture, financial inclusion, health, and education.
Social entrepreneurs with audacious ideas, innovative business plans, or novel goods or technologies that have the potential to significantly improve the lives of impoverished and low-income individuals in developing nations are eligible to apply for the FINCA Ventures Prize.
“We’re looking for rising African entrepreneurs who are leveraging innovative technologies and designing disruptive business models to drive impact in the categories of Fintech for Financial Inclusion and Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems. Companies in the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems category may also apply for technical assistance through the CLIC Connector programme,” FINCA Ventures said.
Applications are open here until April 10.
