12 startups selected by Sequoia’s Surge for its 8th cohort

The 8th batch of Surge, the accelerator program run by Sequoia Capital India, has just begun. It will include 30 entrepreneurs from 12 different firms. Startups developing cutting-edge innovations in the fields of climate technology, artificial intelligence, metaverse, digital health, new consumer brands, and new e-commerce methods are included in Surge 08.

Arintra, AltWorld, Bifrost, Calyx Global, Diri Care, Masterchow, Metastable Materials, RedBrick AI, Requestly, Tentang Anak, Vaaree, and Meragi are among the 12 firms that made it to the eighth cohort.

Surge chose 15 firms for its seventh cohort in August of last year, of which eight were headquartered in India.

Surge, which debuted in 2019, assists in raising financing for the entrepreneurs taking part in the program. The business invests between $1 and $3 million in pre-seed and seed rounds for entrepreneurs in their early stages. The surge network now boasts 130 firms in 16 categories and over 300 entrepreneurs with the inclusion of the eighth cohort.

The creators of Surge 08 are now completing a 16-week hybrid curriculum that is centered on business development. Sanjeev Bikchandani from InfoEdge, Girish Mathrubootham from Freshworks, Kunal Shah from CRED, Amrish Rau from Pinelabs, and Vijay Shekhar Sharma from Paytm are just a few examples of previous presenters and mentors in the program.
