$2.1 M seed funding secured by Egyptian e-health startup O7 Therapy
O7 Therapy, an Egyptian e-health business, has secured a $2.1 million seed round to help it expand across the Middle East and offer additional product features.
O7 Therapy is a technology-enabled therapy platform with a network of bilingual psychiatrists and psychotherapists to help clients through mental health difficulties. It was founded in 2019 by Ashraf Bacheet, Ashraf Adel, and Nader Iskander.
“Everyone deserves convenient and, more importantly, personalised trustworthy access to premium mental wellness services. This is what drives us to do what we do,” said Bacheet.
Hikma Ventures led the startup’s $2.1 million initial round, which also included C-Ventures, Lotus Ventures, and a number of angel investors. It will help O7 Therapy expand throughout the Middle East, as well as facilitate new product features and innovations. It will also enable the team to extend its Corporate Wellness Programs to include additional companies in the region.
“While COVID-19 has accelerated adoption of digital health services, it has also contributed to a rise in mental health issues such as loneliness, stress, anxiety, burnout, and more. We believe O7 Therapy is well-positioned to address some of these problems and provide people with a trusted platform for better health and wellbeing,” said Hamzeh Abdul-Hadi, principal at Hikma Ventures.
