$3 M raised by Sydney-based carbon management startup Avarni
In a Series A investment round headed by Main Sequence and including current backers Vulpes Ventures and Common Sense Ventures, the Sydney-based firm Avarni has raised US $3 million.
The firm claimed it will use the new money to “streamline the future of carbon management” in a statement that Tech in Asia received.
Following the investment, Mike Zimmerman, a partner at Main Sequence, will join the Avarni board.
CEO Tony Yammine, chief people officer Misha Cajic, and CTO Anuj Paudel created Avarni in 2021. The company uses AI to assist businesses in comprehending and addressing their pollution exposure.
The business claimed it could hasten carbon emission planning, evaluation, and monitoring. It also makes anticipating various decarbonization scenarios possible.
150 million tonnes of CO2e in supply chains and over $100 billion in business expenditure data have both been examined by Avarni. Consulting companies like Point B, 5B, and KPMG Australia are a few of its customers.
