$4.8 M raised by DesignCafe in subsequent Series B round

With the help of venture debt fund Alteria Capital, Mirabilis Investment Trust, and existing investor WestBridge Capital, DesignCafé has raised $4.8 million (roughly Rs. 40 crores) in a follow-on Series B round.

Existing investors Fireside Ventures and Sixth Sense Ventures also took part in the round. With this, the business has now raised a total of $29.8 million.

The business raised $25 million in a Series B funding round that was spearheaded by WestBridge in 2021. The company, which has its headquarters in Bengaluru, will use the funds raised to increase the geographic reach of both of its brands, DesignCafe and Qarpentri, throughout the nation.

Shezan Bhojani and Gita Ramanan founded Design Café in 2015 to provide customers with an online customized design and decor service. The startup has factories in Bengaluru and is active in ten cities.

With 15 experience centers, including those in Mysore and Coimbatore, Qarpentri provides its home interior products. The company currently runs 10 stores in Bangalore, one in each of Hyderabad and Pune, and will soon open stores in Chennai and Mumbai. More than 200 homeowners are said to have received services during the pilot phase.
