$400K Seed funding raised by Egyptian ed-tech startup Crafty Workshop
The US $400,000 seed funding round led by EdVentures has been secured by the Egyptian ed-tech startup Crafty Workshop, which plans to use the funds to grow both regionally and in terms of product offerings.
Crafty Workshop is an online learning platform that was founded in 2019 by Hadeer Shalaby and Amgad Moustafa. It offers a variety of creative courses and workshops covering subjects like art, design, illustration, programming, game development, photography, and animation.
The previous startup investor EdVentures led the US $400,000 seed round, which will support Crafty Workshop’s growth and expansion objectives. By 2024, the company wants to expand into the Gulf Region, offer 500 different subjects in the creative industries as part of its content offerings, and create a specialized product for educational institutions that produce creative works.
“We are thrilled to have received this investment from EdVentures, which will enable us to accelerate our growth and make a greater impact in the ed-tech space. We are excited to expand our reach to the Gulf Region, enrich our content library, and enhance our offerings for schools involved in creative productions,” said Shalaby.
The company is thrilled to keep supporting Crafty Workshop, according to Maged Harby, general manager of EdVentures.
“Our initial investment in 2019 marked the beginning of a successful partnership, and since then, Crafty has made remarkable strides in both the Egyptian market and the Gulf region. At EdVentures, we are committed to investing in endeavors that foster innovation in the edtech ecosystem and contribute to the development of human capabilities. Crafty Workshop aligns perfectly with our vision and mission,” he said.
