$5 M pre-seed funding secured by Indonesian Atma
Atma, an Indonesian social work company, has secured $5 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round headed by AC Ventures, with Global Founders Capital participating.
The Atma platform, which was co-founded by former Gojek CEO Edy Tan last year, promises to link poor and middle-income job searchers with job prospects. Atma will be a social platform with a job marketplace and a community-based assistance system for job seekers.
According to Michael Soerijadji, founder and managing partner of AC Ventures, Atma will make the job search process more effective and link people to training opportunities and further credentials.
He also noted that it aids “employers in screening for individuals with more appropriate qualifications.”
The money will be used to improve the product and implement the company’s marketing strategy. By the end of the year, Atma hopes to have grown to 100 employees.
