$550k funding secured by SA crowd-farming startup Livestock Wealth

Livestock Wealth, a crowd-farming firm in South Africa, has raised ZAR10 million (US $550,000) in the capital as it prepares to expand throughout Africa.

Livestock Wealth, a company founded in 2015, offers a platform through which clients may invest in tangible, expanding agricultural assets including macadamia trees, free-range oxen, organic garden tunnels, and cow breeding.

The business strategy enables farmers who cannot afford to scale their operations to access financing while providing the investor with a chance to invest in these assets, which are unaffected by financial market trends, through connecting its network of small-scale partner farmers to online investors.

Khulisani Ventures will use the ZAR10 million (US $550,000) investment from the Mineworkers Investment Company (MIC) to further the startup’s international market expansion.

“Farming is one of the oldest pillars of generational wealth. We understand this at Livestock Wealth and created a platform to make an investment in farming accessible to anyone, anywhere. MIC’s investment in our company will allow us to scale our technology offering and prepare for growth beyond South Africa,” said CEO Ntuthuko Shezi.
