To achieve targes, Singareni to start its production in new projects at Odisha in 2021

This year, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) will start producing in the new GDK-5 open cast and Naini projects in Odisha.

SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N.Sridhar, speaking after hoisting the National flag at the 75th Independence Day celebrations at Singareni Bhavan here on Sunday, said Singareni is surging ahead with renewed enthusiasm for the next eight months to set targets and make history by producing and transporting 700 lakh tonnes of coal.

This year, the Mining Company will start an additional 5 million tonnes of production from JVR OC-2 at Sattupalli, and we are ready to take on new coal blocks in other states, he said. Singareni saw a 90 percent increase in turnover, a 72 percent increase in transportation, and a 65 percent increase in production in the first four months of this fiscal year, compared to the same period last year.

In the same period last year, there were losses of Rs. 300 crores whereas this year the profits are over 800 crores, he informed.

In the coming times, we have to rededicate ourselves to the country’s service through coal production, thermal and solar power generation, he said to meet the needs of the county, private organizations will also mine and sell coal, and to overcome this competitive situation, Singareni has to sustain and go forward, he added.
