Draper Startup House Ventures announced launch of new global fund
Draper Company House Ventures (DSHV), a division of the Draper Venture Network, has created a new worldwide micro-fund aimed towards early-stage digital startup entrepreneurs.
In addition, it has made its first investment in Ferne Health, a sexual health business.
DSHV is based in the United States, with management offices in San Mateo and Singapore. The fund’s overall size will be revealed at a later time.
Because Draper Startup House International is based in Singapore, the fund will have a strong APAC focus. Its potential reach comprises 60 nations and 30 sectors, which are already represented on the site.
Giulianna Crivello and Vikram Bharati, founders of Draper Startup House International, who will co-manage the fund, as well as long-time advisor Nick Martin, are its general partners.
After launching a software-based syndicate matching worldwide investment platform in 2020, the fund is now launching a software-based syndicate matching global investment platform.
“Since inception in 2020, Draper Startup House Ventures has made 215 investor introductions to startups,” Bharati said. “With the launch of this fund, Draper Startup House itself expands beyond our 16 physical locations of entrepreneurial hospitality and tourism to better connect, inspire, and empower a global community through direct venture capital backing.”
“Thanks to the internet, and things like Bitcoin, entrepreneurs can build startups and create stored value from anywhere,” lead investor Tim Draper stated. “Whether they are in Myanmar, Estonia, or Indonesia, Draper Startup House Ventures brings them the opportunity to get funding without having to find their way to Silicon Valley.”
The fund offers access to its own venture capital fund as well as the option to submit pitch decks to the Draper Venture Network’s 24 worldwide funds.
Tim Draper, the company’s primary investor, is recognised for his investments in Hotmail, Skype, and Baidu. Over US $2 billion is managed by Draper’s network firms across 24 global funds.
Hatch Ventures Vietnam (HATCH!), a Singapore-based startup ecosystem builder, was purchased by Draper Startup House in April.
