$1B SPAC merger in pipeline for Kacific Broadband Satellites
According to Pandaily, the Chinese house renting website Ziroom is laying off 20% of its workers at its Beijing headquarters, which employs less than 4,000 people.
The layoffs, which began earlier this month, mostly impacted non-frontline business areas such as online marketing, operations management, quality, and design. Frontline business department property managers, on the other hand, accused Ziroom of obfuscating pay cutbacks by cutting their monthly merit pay instead. Bonuses were also halved in several cases.
This comes at a time when, according to staff, the corporation is managing just 850,000 residences this year, down from 1 million in 2021.
These were “typical modifications” in some verticals, according to Ziroom, which is supported by SoftBank’s Vision Fund. It also intends to hire additional housekeepers and staff in order to better serve clients and property owners.
