Rs 7.3 Cr Seed funding received by plant-based protein manufacturer Evolved Foods
A company that produces plant-based proteins called Evolved Foods has raised Rs 7.3 crore in a seed round led by Rainmatter Health, which is backed by Zerodha, and Kamala Capital.
Anvitha Prashanth, Aprameya Radhakrishna, and a number of angel investors, including Rachel Goenka, Karan Khetarpal, B G Mahesh, Sushant Arora, Swapnil Shah, and Vananam Ventures Trust, also invested in the round.
According to the company’s press release, the money will be used to increase productivity across supply chain and production operations.
Evolved, a company founded by Roma Roy Choudhury, creates its signature product, Evolved Plant Meat, using ingredients like soy, coconut, and rice protein. According to the company, its product has less than 5% fat and is 15% protein-packed.
Popular dining establishments, quick service restaurants (QSRs), delivery restaurants, and five-star hotels offer evolved dishes for delivery, including GOPIZZA, Shangri-La, Go Native, Royal Orchid, Toscano, and Trippy Goat in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, and other cities.
Rainmatter supported the fintech platform MProfit in its initial funding round in January.
