Travel experiences platform Klook raised $210 M from Bessemer Venture Partners
The travel experiences platform Klook, with its headquarters in Hong Kong, has raised US $210 million in a round led by Bessemer Venture Partners. BPEA EQT, Atinum Investment, Golden Vision Capital, and Krungsri Finnovate from Bank of Ayudhya are among the participants.
The round coincides with the post-pandemic recovery of the travel industry. After seeing its top-line growth triple from 2019 to this year, Klook announced that it has turned a profit for the first time.
Additionally, in 2023, the business reported an annualized gross booking value of US $3 billion.
“During the pandemic, we doubled down on our resources in merchant digitization and the expansion of our supply network, including car rentals and outdoor experiences,” said Ethan Lin, CEO and co-founder of Klook.
The company plans to use the additional funding for AI integration, social and digital marketing scaling, and new product development. It has teamed up with Google Cloud to launch generative AI features like chatbots for customer support, content creation, and automated translations.
Klook was founded in 2014, and in January 2021, it completed a series E round led by Aspex Management that brought in US $200 million.
