Global social impact programme selected five African startups
Ten businesses—five of them from Africa—have been chosen to participate in Startup Boost, an international initiative for social impact startups managed by the tech consulting firm tretton37, based in Sweden.
Tech consulting firm tretton37 works with Telia, Klarna, Paradox Interactive, Tibber, and ICA, among others. Launched in late 2023, Startup Boost provides free assistance to startups seeking to change the world and leave their mark.
Ten candidates were chosen for the program out of nearly fifty, five of whom were from Africa. Digital product marketplace Ahiyoyo and farm produce platform Aliments are two of those from Benin; the others are the self-publishing platform Iko Africa from Nigeria, the find-a-therapist service Iguru Therapies in Uganda, and the legal-tech platform Zupoto.
Startups from Slovenia, Sweden, Macedonia, and the United Arab Emirates make up the remainder of the cohort.
Based on their individual needs, the chosen startups will receive free assistance in areas like design, strategy, and programming.
“Reading and hearing about these innovative startups is both humbling and inspiring. Many of these ideas have the ability to change lives – some can even save lives. We’re excited to support the ten startups that were chosen and together make a positive impact in the world,” said Deniz Yildirim, CEO of tretton37.
