Neodocs, which was founded by Nikunj Malpani, Anurag Meena, and Pratik Lodha, first released the Kidney Care Kit and the UTI Care Kit, two urine-based tests that don’t require lab equipment.

The startup states that more than 4,000 doctors in India are using its test cards, which it claims to have sold over 200,000 thus far. Additionally, the company is developing “instant” finger-prick blood tests, which allow users to receive results on their phones by simply snapping a picture.

While the UTI Care Kit tracks 10 parameters to help screen for urinary tract infections, the Kidney Care measures urine albumin creatinine ratio (UACR) + 14 other parameters.

In order to digitalize testing in remote areas, the team is also collaborating with numerous pharmaceutical companies, including Cipla, Eris, Sun Pharma, AstraZeneca, Bayer, and RPG Life Sciences, as well as the governments of Maharashtra (Nashik) and Rajasthan (Ladnu).

Omidyar has made three investments since announcing that it would be closing its operations in India. It recently took the lead in Sportvot and Revfin funding rounds.
