Dating app Juleo raised $2.5 M from 180 angels
Over 180 investors contributed $2.5 million to the dating app Juleo in an angel funding round. Notable backers include Livspace founder Ramakant Sharma, CRED founder Kunal Shah, Acko co-founder Ruchi Deepak, former JP Morgan India chairman Leo Puri, and Groww founders Harsh Jain and Lalit Keshre.
The money raised will go toward expanding the team, marketing, and growth.
Established in 2023 by Chiranjeev Ghai and Varun Sud, Juleo promotes sincere, in-person meetings and provides a more responsible and health-conscious approach to contemporary dating and marriage.
Users can access club membership through the Juleo app, which is available on the Play Store and App Store. The platform states that it verifies each member’s government ID and video verification through India Stack. Every member of the club receives a personal (AI) matchmaker, or “Genie,” on the app who shares carefully selected profiles and arranges initial meetings with other members who complement them.
According to Juleo, women can opt to make their profiles visible only to men they like, and it keeps their profiles private by default, protecting them from being stalked by obnoxious coworkers and relatives.
