Olee.space raises $3 M Seed funding from Rockstud Capital

Rockstud Capital and other international investors have contributed $3 million to the seed funding round for Olee.space, a laser-based communication and photonics defense system.
According to a press release from Olee.space, the additional funding will be used to expand its defense tech roadmap, scale production, and advance its quantum-secure communication protocols.
Olee.space, a photonics and defense technology company co-founded in 2023 by James Solomon and Suman Hiremath, develops next-generation systems in directed energy weapons, quantum-encrypted networking, and Free-Space Optical Communication (FSOC). Resilient systems for ground-to-space, intersatellite, and terrestrial links are among its cutting-edge solutions; they are made for optimal data throughput, low latency, and maximum security.
According to the Pune-based startup, Free-Space Optical Communication (FSOC) provides incredibly fast and secure data links using low-powered infrared laser beams over land, air, sea, and space.
The DEW platform from Olee.space is being developed for anti-drone/UAV and anti-satellite operations. These cutting-edge systems are intended to provide accurate tracking, real-time targeting, and the elimination of aerial threats.
“I have always been fascinated by how lasers function. Working with light gives me happiness and I am here to do as much justice to this domain as any of my able team members. What we do here is rewarding to the country, and would continue doing so,” said James Solomon, founder and CEO of Olee.
