Startale closes $63 M Series A investment led by SBI, Sony Innovation Fund

Startale Group, a blockchain startup based in Singapore, announced on Wednesday that SBI Group, Inc. had contributed $50 million to its second close of its Series A round.

Startale said in a statement that it has completed a $63 million Series A round, including the first close of $13 million from the Sony Innovation Fund, which was announced in January 2026.

The investment aids Startale in accelerating the adoption of onchain infrastructure for real-world assets, entertainment, and finance.

The company stated that it will deliver a complete stack that connects blockchain infrastructure, ecosystems, and consumer applications in order to expedite its vision of vertical integration strategy.

By supporting institutional tokenized securities and RWA trading, the funding will allow the business to grow Strium and establish the exchange and settlement framework for Asia’s onchain capital markets.

Additionally, the company will increase the use of JPYSC and USDSC stablecoins, offering retail, enterprise, and institutional users smooth fiat-to-crypto integration as well as additional features for onchain dividends and yield distribution.

By integrating asset management, Mini Apps, payments, and social features into a single, user-friendly interface that abstracts blockchain complexity, the company will also transform the Startale App into a SuperApp.

Startale’s vertically integrated approach to blockchain infrastructure, which spans Ethereum Layer 2 networks, JPY stablecoin issuance, tokenized securities, and consumer applications, is gaining momentum, as evidenced by the round that brings together two of its most important strategic partners.

The $50 million investment from SBI Group expands on a partnership that has already demonstrated JPYSC, the first trust bank-backed JPY stablecoin, and Strium, a Layer 1 blockchain intended for tokenized securities and RWA trading, co-developed through the strategic joint venture announced in August 2025.

The investment demonstrates SBI Group’s ongoing faith in Startale’s capacity to provide institutional-grade financial products onchain at scale, revolutionizing the way financial services, banking, and securities will function in the emerging digital era.

With the help of this funding, Startale will be able to develop innovative solutions that will benefit SBI’s more than 80 million clients as well as seize opportunities in the larger financial sector.

“The close of our $63 million Series A reflects the strong conviction our partners have in the vision we are building,

“Through the deep collaboration with SBI, we will accelerate the adoption of tokenised stocks, centered on Japanese equities and JPY stablecoin, this year,” said Sota Watanabe, Chief Executive Officer of Startale Group.
