Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum conference to be held in September

On September 26–27, the first Cairo, Egypt, location of the biennial Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF) conference and awards will be opened.

The eighth annual event is co-organized by the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association and hosted in cooperation with Egypt’s Ministry for International Cooperation (EBA).

AWIEF2022 is a hybrid event that takes place offline in the Cairo Marriott Hotel and online, allowing speakers, participants, and virtual exhibitors to engage on an easily accessible virtual platform.

For discourse and discussions on women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, investment, technology, and innovation in Africa, the conference will bring together more than 1,300 entrepreneurs, startups, thought leaders, policymakers, investors, CSOs, academics, and media.

“We are truly excited and happy to be hosting AWIEF2022 in Egypt and partnering with the International Cooperation Ministry and the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association. Egypt is at the forefront of the African entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem drive. Hosting AWIEF in a country known for its strong support for women’s economic empowerment and sustainable development is important for us,” said AWIEF founder and CEO Irene Ochem.
