After raising $250 M, Acronis valued at $3.5 B

In its most recent investment round, Singapore-based cybersecurity company Acronis raised $250 million, bringing its valuation to US $3.5 billion, according to Bloomberg. According to reports, one of the cooperating investors is global asset management BlackRock.

The business will use the new money for recruiting and acquisitions.

Acronis raised exactly US $250 million in a prior round, valuing it at US $2.5 billion in May. One of its first investors was Goldman Sachs.

Acronis, established in 2003 by Serg Bell, has 34 locations globally, and its global headquarters is in Switzerland. It serves 750,000 organizations in more than 150 countries.

The company provides business file synchronization and sharing solutions and backup and protection solutions for cyber security.

Acronis disclosed in May that it will invest $50 million in Vietnam, which plans to open an office and R&D facility by 2023.

By 2029, the worldwide cybersecurity industry is expected to reach US $376.3 billion, growing at a 13.4% compound yearly growth rate.
