AI revolutionizing education in India
In recent years, AI (artificial intelligence) has emerged as a powerful tool to revolutionize the education system in India by making education more personalized and effective for students. Artificial Intelligence has been transforming people’s lives in several ways including work.
The EdTech sector also has massive backing from the government. The budget 2023 announced digital initiatives focusing on AI in the education system. The government introduced an allocation for AI in various institutes, 100 labs in engineering institutes, libraries.
Commenting on the future of EdTech, Aarul Malviya, founder of Zamt (a platform that networks & supports school ecosystems) said, “We are glad that the government’s new budget is in line with India’s ed-tech sector. With the announcement of establishing a National Digital Library for children and adolescents, the ed-tech sector will definitely get a boost.
He further added, “It will create a digital ecosystem in the education sector, encourage digital education and largely benefit the students who are lagging due to the pandemic.”
AI is currently being utilized to create an environment that can adapt to the needs and preferences of students by providing real-time feedback, monitor student progress and provide personalized recommendations for study materials and resources. AI-powered virtual assistants (chatbots) which assist students with their studies and queries aiming to improve their learning.
India has several AI startups and upcoming firms too. AI is being used in a variety of educational settings, including higher education institutions, and online learning platforms. Many edtech startups have emerged in recent years, offering AI-powered learning tools and platforms. These startups include Hacker Rank, Miko, iNurture and Square Panda among others.
There is also a rising concern about the extensive growth of AI as it could replace teachers in future which will reduce the human touch from the education system.
AI has potential benefits as well when it comes to education system. With the right policies and regulations in place, AI has the potential to revolutionize the education system in India.
