Aiming to erase the rural-urban divide, Jio is all set to roll out 5G services
Jio will be finishing its 5G installations across India by 2023. Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani stated “under Akash’s chairmanship, Jio is rolling out the world’s best 5G network across India…at a pace which is faster than anywhere in the world. Jio’s 5G deployment will be complete in 2023,” he stated this while speaking at the company’s ‘Family Day’ celebrations. Mukesh Ambani will also roll out digital products and solutions to both India and other countries.
On 28th December, Jio launched 5G services in 50 cities currently and plans to roll out 5G across India by 2023. The 5G services will be offered on an invite basis only. People with 5G phones and living in those cities where 5G is accessible will receive invites. After receiving the invite Jio users will have access to an unlimited 5G network 24×7. Users having an active prepaid or postpaid plan with a good network will also receive the invites.
Cities, where 5G is accessible, include Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Nathdwara, Pune, Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and all 33 districts headquarters of Gujrat.
