Assets of DeltiasGaming acquired by Nazara’s Absolute Sports
The parent company of Sportskeeda.com, Absolute Sports, a Nazara Technologies subsidiary, has agreed to buy all the assets of DeltiasGaming.com, a leading US provider of gaming and e-sports content.
The deal, which is expected to close within the next 45 days, is for an all-cash consideration of $900K (roughly Rs 7.5 crore), to be paid over one or more tranches.
The intellectual property rights of Ultimate Teen Patti were purchased by Nazara Technologies’ mobile gaming division, Next Wave Multimedia, from Games24X7 for Rs 10 crore last month.
Additionally, it declared that it had paid Rs 300 crore to acquire an extra 48.42% of Paper Boat Apps (PBA) from its promoters, Anupam and Anshu Dhanuka. Nazara bought the remaining 28.12% of Nextwave Multimedia’s mobile gaming subsidiary in May, gaining a 100% ownership position.
In June 2024, DeltiasGaming.com reported revenues of $575K, or approximately Rs 4.8 crore, for the full year. According to Absolute Sports, the transaction will be financed by its cash reserves.
Absolute Sports hopes to strengthen its position in the US gaming and esports media publishing market with this acquisition. With nearly 1.5 million readers each month and strong brand equity, Deltia’s Gaming will be leveraged to position the group as a leading voice in the gaming media industry.
Through the acquisition, the group gains access to a sizable following on popular gaming streaming platforms Twitch and YouTube under the Deltia’s Gaming brand.
