After raising more than Rs 38 crore ($4 million) in a private funding round, the Burmese specialty restaurant chain Burma Burma is now valued at approximately Rs 500 crore ($53 million). New investors Endurance Capital and Coheron Wealth joined the round, as did longstanding investor Negen Capital.

The business intends to use the additional funding to strengthen its position in current markets and grow into new cities. It seeks to maintain consistency in food quality and customer experience while scaling in a calibrated manner.

The business was established in 2012 and currently has 21 locations in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh. With a vegetarian menu and a focus on Burmese cuisine, it has made a name for itself in the upscale casual dining market.

Over the past three years, Burma’s recurring revenue has increased at a rate of roughly 50% CAGR, with an annual total of over Rs 200 crore. The company reported an EBITDA margin of about 8% and outlet level profitability of over 21% in FY25. From Rs 72 crore in the prior fiscal year, its operating revenue increased to Rs 106 crore in FY25.

Burma Burma had raised a total of $7 million prior to this round, with Negen Capital and Bbigplas Poly Pvt Ltd serving as its principal backers. Chirag Chhajer and Ankit Gupta, the company’s co-founders, jointly held 88% of the business.
