Content creator platform TipTip launched for SM Influencers

Albert Lucius, a former director of Grab, has introduced TipTip, a digital platform designed to pay off social media influencers. The firm previously secured US $10 million in a seed round funded by East Ventures (EV).

With the use of interactive video sessions, TipTip enables influencers to communicate directly with their followers. On the platform, which is connected with payment providers, the business assists them in monetizing content and receiving tips from their followers.

“As not everyone is proficient at building an audience, TipTip serves as a new, unique channel to connect content creators with their fans, while providing direct monetization opportunities outside of traditional ways of advertising and brand endorsement,” Lucius said in a statement.

Additionally, Lucius served as the previous CEO of the EV-supported online-to-offline marketplace Kudo. Grab purchased the business in 2017.

The president commissioner of TipTip is Triawan Munaf, an EV venture consultant. Munaf provides his knowledge of the creative economy and connections to the government as the former head of Indonesia’s creative economy agency.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the creative economy sector added around one quadrillion rupiah (US $66.6 billion) to Indonesia’s gross domestic product per year and employed 17 million people in 2019.

Munaf stated that TipTip will make it easier for the general public to acquire reputable and informative material in addition to providing a platform for content providers to work. The platform, which was introduced in Indonesia, intends to expand throughout Southeast Asia’s emerging nations.
