Cool Cats receive strategic investments from Animoca Brands and affiliates
Animoca Brands and its affiliates declared that they had completed their strategic investment in Cool Cats Group, the company that owns the well-known Cool Cats NFT brand.
After the investment, the majority stake in Cool Cats Group is owned by Coin Operated Group and Animoca Brands, according to a statement from Animoca Brands.
In the quickly changing NFT landscape, Animoca Brands and Coin Operated Group seek to promote innovation and growth, improve community involvement, and create new market opportunities for Cool Cats.
Inspired by the popular comic character “Blue Cat,” created in 2013 by artist Colin Egan (also known as Clon), Cool Cats is a collection of 9,999 randomly generated and tastefully curated non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Ethereum.
The market valuation of NFTs has increased significantly since April 2025, reaching a global market capitalization of approximately $7 billion with monthly sales volumes of approximately $600 million.
Cool Cats is one of the most well-known and historic NFT collections. It has traded over $410 million so far, placing it 19th in terms of total trading volume.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, and Kenneth Shek, project lead of Mocaverse and Moca Network, will be appointed as two new board members to further Cool Cats after the investment.
By bringing both communities together through common intellectual property, benefits, and incentives, Animoca Brands hopes to foster collaboration between its two well-known NFT collections, the Eastern-origin Mocaverse and the Western-origin Cool Cats.
A partnership with Cool Cats is also being planned by Moca Network, the Animoca Brands project that is creating the biggest chain-agnostic decentralized identity network in the world.
Through the interoperability made possible by Moca Network’s digital identity infrastructure, the partnership will strengthen the bonds between the two brand ecosystems and support Cool Cats’ development and growth.

The strategic alliance between Cool Cats and Animoca Brands has been expanded with this investment, according to Ken Cron, chairman and CEO of Coin Operated Group.
