DPIIT invites startup applications on MAARG portal

A request for startup applications for registration on the MAARG site, the National Mentorship Platform by Startup India, has been issued by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

A robust and inclusive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in India is what Startup India is focusing on creating in order to strengthen the Indian startup ecosystem, which is now the third biggest in the world.

In this regard, the MAARG portal, which stands for Mentorship, Advisory, Assistance, Resilience, and Growth, is a one-stop platform that enables mentorship for startups across a variety of industries, roles, stages, and backgrounds.

The MAARG site aims to develop a regulated and organised platform that allows for intelligent matchmaking between mentors and their respective mentees. It also offers startups throughout their lifetime sector-focused assistance, hand-holding, and support.

Building an outcome-oriented approach that enables timely tracking of the mentor-mentee engagements also aids in facilitating effective and knowledgeable mentoring for startups.

Through Artificial Intelligence (AI) based matching, startups may now interact with academics, industry experts, successful founders, seasoned investors, and other specialists from across the world to receive individualised advice on development and strategy, the ministry said.

Customizable mentorship programmes for ecosystem enablers, a mobile-friendly user interface, recognition for contributing mentors, choices for video and audio calls, and more are just a few of the main features of the MAARG site, according to the statement.

In a statement, the Ministry of Commerce & Industry said, “Innovations are the inevitable engines of growth for a nation, and India alone is home to more than 82,000+ DPIIT recognised startups and over 107 Unicorns. Entrepreneurship is the foundation of our great nation’s economic wealth and prosperity, and we are quickly transforming from a nation of job seekers to a nation of job creators”.
