Ed-tech startups Schoolz, Ibn Sina raise six-figure investment from Egypt’s EdVentures

Two Egyptian ed-tech startups, Schoolz and Ibn Sina Training Academy, have received six-figure US investments from the Egyptian venture capital firm EdVentures.

Abdel Monsef Ismail, Ayman Hamza, and Hosni Ahmed founded Schoolz in 2020. It is a technology-driven platform that offers dependable, reasonably priced, and safe student transportation options. Founded in 2017, Ibn Sina provides specialized medical training programs, such as classes in digital marketing, coding, and medical translation.

With the additional funding, EdVentures now has 24 startups in its portfolio. EdVentures, the investment division of Nahdet Misr, is the top corporate venture capital firm in MENA with an emphasis on ed-tTech. It makes new investments through its cutting-edge EdTech Ventures Studio (EDVS) program.

In the first EDVS bootcamp, Schoolz and Ibn Sina Training Academy were selected from a competitive group of ten startups.
