EMO Energy raised $6.2 M Series A funding

With the help of its current investor, Transition VC, and led by Subhkam Ventures, the energy-tech firm EMO Energy has received $6.2 million in its Series A fundraising round.

Sat Industries and others had earlier contributed $1.43 million to the Bengaluru-based firm.

In order to address increasing operational needs, EMO Energy said in a news statement that the funds will be used to develop its R&D skills, increase the team, and scale its 2 and 3 wheeler energy solution to over 1 lakh cars over the next two years.

EMO Energy is a deep energy-tech firm that was co-founded in 2022 by Sheetanshu Tyagi and Rahul Patel with the goal of facilitating the widespread adoption of EVs and reducing the carbon footprint of urban electricity. With features like fireproof designs, ultra-fast 20-minute charge, and over 3000 charging cycles, its patented technology stack, ZEN, sets a standard for performance, safety, and efficiency. The company’s battery systems have applications in a variety of sectors and are made for commercial vehicles, electric two- and three-wheelers, and large-scale energy storage.

With its cutting-edge battery hardware and software, EMO Energy claims to be empowering the urban energy environment. With its patented ZEN technology, which includes an AI battery management system, active thermal management, and machine learning battery life extension algorithms, it can serve both mobility and energy storage needs, opening up a multibillion-dollar market for industrial green energy storage systems, light commercial vehicles, and electric two-wheelers.

According to EMO, it has established important high-volume alliances with significant OEMs over the past 12 months and is now prepared to expand from 2 to 2000 kWh. EMO-enabled delivery vehicles powered by its rapid chargers and energy storage devices, all controlled by an integrated energy management software, are being installed in dark shops and commercial facilities as part of an ecosystem it is establishing.

Over 2,000 battery packs have reportedly already been installed in the mobility segment by EMO Energy, which is also conducting production-ready ESS trials to replace diesel generators in commercial and industrial settings and provide peak shaving and backup. Among the startup’s customers are Domino’s, Blinkit, BigBasket, and Kinetic Green.
