Endeavor Kenya unveils first cohort of nine startups for ScaleUp programme

With the goal of providing high-growth startup businesses with the resources and network they need to gain clarity on their path to scale, Endeavor Kenya has unveiled the first cohort of nine startups for its ScaleUp program.

The local branch of the international Endeavor organization, Endeavor Kenya, works to establish vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems in developing and underserved markets by generating a multiplier effect that enables business owners to expand more quickly.

The ScaleUp program aims to assist local startups in scaling by utilizing a strong peer network of high-impact entrepreneurs who have founded and operated successful businesses, immersive business development training, expert mentors, and fundraising support.

The first iteration of the program, which will take place over the course of the next six to twelve months, has chosen nine Kenyan startups to participate. With one-on-one mentoring sessions with Endeavor Kenya network entrepreneurs and mentors, it offers a streamlined path to becoming a potential Endeavor entrepreneur.

These include Senga, a logistics and supply chain solution; African Management Initiative (AMI), which equips African businesses with useful tools and training; ZenDawa, a B2B SaaS solution for the pharmacy industry; and Nakama-Tech, which provides creative business solutions to improve customer satisfaction, retention, and sales.

The B2B SaaS omni-channel customer support tool Dial Afrika, the creative solutions Satao has created for commercial bakeries, the digital transportation marketplace BuuPass, Pezesha, which provides SMEs with working capital through a collaborative digital platform, and Shega, which gives businesses actionable insights through curated data and intelligence, are also included in the selection.

ScaleUp aims to help the chosen startups accelerate their business growth so they can become the next wave of Endeavor entrepreneurs, according to managing director of Endeavor Kenya Maryanne Ochola.

“The Endeavor ScaleUp programme is crucial for companies in the growth stage. The programme will offer the selected entrepreneurs invaluable benefits by providing access to targeted training and development opportunities, focusing on leadership skills, business strategies, and innovative technology. They will have a chance to interact with experienced entrepreneurs who will help accelerate their entrepreneurial journey even as they advance to the next stage of their business growth,” she said.
