Fireside led Rs 30 Cr Seed funding raised by D2C grocery startup Anmasa

In a seed investment round headed by Fireside Ventures, startup of hyperlocal fresh essentials Anmasa raised Rs 30 crore ($3.15 million), with participation from Blume Ventures, current investors, and a few HNIs. With this round, the company has raised a total of Rs 47 crore, or roughly $5 million.

Before this, in August of last year, the Gurugram-based business raised $1.1 million in a pre-seed investment round that included participation from other angel investors and was co-led by Snow Leopard Technology Ventures, Veltis Capital, Blume Ventures, and Indigram Lab.

According to a news statement from Anmasa, the funds will be utilized for hiring senior personnel, expanding into new locations, establishing more production hubs, strengthening technical infrastructure, and improving product personalization.

Founded in 2023 by Yatish Talvadia and Shailendra Upadhyay, Anmasa manufactures and delivers fresh flour, wood-pressed oils, and spices through neighbourhood micro-factories. The company operates on a hyperlocal model with deliveries within 90 minutes.

According to the company, its neighbourhood micro-manufacturing stores prepare stone-ground flour, wood-pressed oils, and freshly milled spices in small batches only after an order is placed. Anmasa claims the model has driven 23x growth over the past 12 months across Gurugram and Noida.

According to the firm, its stores serve as fulfillment centers, experience centers, and micro-factories where customers can watch staples being prepared after placing an order. Customers may make customized multigrain mixes and select grind textures for regional cuisines like luchi, poori, and bhakri thanks to its more than thirty varieties of grains, millets, and seeds.

The company claims that recurring customers account for over 70% of its direct-to-consumer sales, with the highest-value cohorts spending over Rs 5,000 a month. Additionally, it states that the majority of its stores have attained positive store-level EBITDA.
