First edition of D2C Yatra well-received by startups, VCs, and other stakeholders

The first iteration of D2C Yatra, powered by IDFC First Bank and supported by CCAvenue, was a resounding success, drawing more than 200 attendees, 30+ speakers, and numerous notable D2C startups and stakeholders.

Bhavesh Jatania, national head of startup banking at IDFC First Bank, gave a keynote address to open the event. Jatania discussed a number of banking-related factors that have helped the e-commerce and direct-to-consumer startup ecosystems in India grow, as well as the initiatives taken by IDFC First Bank to provide useful solutions for direct-to-consumer businesses.

Next, influential leaders from the industry gathered for enlightening panel discussions and fireside chats. Co-founders of Mamaearth Varun and Ghazal Alagh, co-founders of The Good Glamm Group Priyanka Gill, co-founder and CTO of Meesho Sanjeev Barnwal, co-founder and CEO of Magicpin Anshoo Sharma, and co-founder and COO of BharatX Eeshan Sharma were among those who participated in these discussions.

Everyone who took part in the discussion shared their opinions on the D2C startup ecosystem’s current state, dos and don’ts, and potential future developments. The interaction between the speakers and the audience was a major highlight, with both D2C employees and startup founders asking the experts numerous questions. The other components include parallel workshops to educate those interested in the ecosystem better and more about the industry, ensuring that no one returned without receiving value for their time.

Aakash Anand, the founder and CEO of IDAM House of Brands, led a workshop on the business fundamentals of managing a sustainable D2C company, while Suumit Shah, the founder and CEO of Dukaan, spoke about technology and growth hacking for aspiring D2C entrepreneurs.

The D2C Yatra honored and presented prizes to the nation’s top emerging D2C startups as a way to cap off the historic day. These companies included Cannarama, Mountaintribe Kombucha, EcoSoul Home Inc., The Artment, Habbits, and others.
