Generative AI startup Ema raised $25 M from Accel, Prosus, others
Accel, Section 32, and Prosus Ventures led Ema’s first funding round, which brought in $25 million for the generative AI startup.
Wipro Ventures, Venture Highway, AME Cloud Ventures, Frontier Ventures, Maum Group, and Firebolt Ventures are among the other investors who took part in the round. Distinguished angel investors who participated in the round comprise Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Meta, Jerry Yang, co-founder of Yahoo, and Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO of Snowflake.
Ema stated in a press release that it will use the money for R&D and to improve its current product suits.
Ema’s AI solutions are designed to automate workflows and processes within an organization. The company was founded in 2023 by Surojit Chatterjee, Souvik Sen, and Swati Trehan. The solutions are compatible with popular productivity tools like Slack, Teams, OneDrive, Google Drive, and Zendesk.
Conversational interaction, context understanding, accepting ongoing human input, reasoning, and deliberative decision-making are all reportedly skills that Ema possesses. To maintain accuracy, it uses small in-house language models along with about 30 large public language models, such as GPT 4, GPT-3.5-turbo, Claude 2.1, Gemini, Mistral-S, and Llama2.
Healthcare, retail, travel, hospitality, finance, manufacturing, e-commerce, technology, and many other industries are served by Ema’s flexible AI capabilities.
There are currently 30 people working for Ema in the US and India.
With its headquarters in India, Ema is an early-stage startup that has secured the second-largest funding for this kind of business. In December 2023, Lightspeed led a $41 million Series A round in which Peak XV Partners and Khosla Ventures also participated, for the generative AI startup Sarvam AI.
