HomeSkul, Kerala’s first native educational software aiming for pan-India reach

HomeSkul, a venture of Zillion Nerves Innovative Technology, a Kerala-based EduTech business, has developed its first home-grown after-school e-learning software, which offers children a tailored learning experience driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR).

Prithviraj, a prominent Malayalam actor and brand ambassador for HomeSkul, debuted the app at a Kochi event. The app has a number of unique features and is jam-packed with high-quality information for CBSE and state board students, provided by qualified academics and topic specialists. HomeSkul offers live courses on a two-way interactive smart classroom platform employing augmented reality technology in addition to recorded classes.

During and after the live sessions, HomeSkul’s aided learning function makes it simple to clear up any issues or problems. The app also includes a large e-library of study resources on all areas covered, and it is the first in the industry to provide chapter-by-chapter review videos to aid students in last-minute test preparation. Chapter-by-chapter question answers for all NCERT textbooks are also available in the app’s study resources library.

Commenting on the app launch, founder and CEO of HomeSkul, Jaganathan Ram said, “Innovation in quality content, pedagogical approach and affordability are the key factors that make HomeSkul unique. The classes are handled by trained subject experts with more than a decade of teaching experience and not by presenters. We are providing rich content with concept building and reinforcement through real-life examples. Short notes, mind map for preparing for examinations, interactive video classes that ensure student’s attention in the class, chapter-wise revision videos are some of the unique features of HomeSkul.”

The software, which is now available in English and Malayalam, will soon be expanded to include Hindi for kids across the country. HomeSkul also intends to provide lessons in a variety of regional languages. HomeSkul caters to CBSE students in the eighth to the twelfth grades. Apart from after-school tutoring, HomeSkul also offers competitive exam preparation sessions like NEET and JEE.

“HomeSkul offers equitable, easy, and affordable access to students of urban, semi-urban, and rural alike. We are charging only less than 50% of the average fees of offline tuitions and thus have an edge over competitors. HomeSkul is aiming to reach 50k paid users by October 2022. We are aiming to become a unicorn company within 3 years and strong presence in semi-urban and rural areas all over India to ensure affordable access to underserved communities,” said Dr. Biji Kumar R, COO, HomeSkul.

“We have a large audience watching the live streaming of our program all over India and across GCC countries. HomeSkul is designed to ensure the best quality of education and intelligently curated engaging educational content. The next academic year HomeSkul will be targeting the pan India market and will reach the backward area where internet is not available,” said Ananthu Sunil, Director of HomeSkul.

HomeSkul will also bring new capabilities to track health, as well as the portability and accessibility of HomeSkul content on other devices including Smart TVs and wearables.
