Hukumonline raised undisclosed Series B funding to develop regulatory compliance system

A series B round has been secured by Hukumonline, a digital legal services provider with headquarters in Indonesia, from the Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF). The sum is not known.

CEO Arkka Dhiratara stated on LinkedIn that the company will use the money to develop its flagship product, the Regulatory Compliance System (RCS), as well as what he refers to as Indonesia’s first generative AI tool for the legal industry.

According to the company, enterprise customers can use its AI-powered RCS to thoroughly and instantly check for legal compliance.

Hukumonline, which was founded in 2000 by a number of attorneys and legal professionals, offers services like business license assistance and legal consultations in addition to information on laws and regulations in Indonesia. The law firm claimed to represent “thousands” of clients, including government agencies, universities, and legal practices.

Based in New York MDIF has been a longstanding supporter of Hukumonline, having contributed funds to the company during its two series A funding rounds in 2017 and 2020. Through its private equity fund, the Emerging Media Opportunity Fund, MDIF made investments for both rounds.

In all, 150 media companies in 47 countries have received investments totaling US $311 million from MDIF.
