Humanoid robotics startup iHub Robotics raised Rs 4.3 Cr Pre-seed funding

In a pre-seed funding round, U.S. investors have contributed Rs 4.3 crore, or roughly $520K, to the humanoid robotics startup iHub Robotics.

In October 2023, the business raised $20 million in a similar round.

According to a press release from iHub Robotics, the new funding will be used to build humanoid robotics production facilities in Kerala, furthering the company’s goal of making India a global leader in robotics and AI-driven automation.

Athil Krishna, Akhil K. Haridasan, and Sarath S. co-founded iHub Robotics in 2021. The company offers intelligent robotics solutions that are transforming the way businesses run. Using cutting-edge technology, it seeks to revolutionize industries so they can increase efficiency, lower costs, and boost productivity.

By exporting its Tara Gen-1 semi-humanoid robot to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, iHub Robotics claims to have already had a major global impact. The most sophisticated semi-humanoid robot in India, Tara Gen-1, was constructed using state-of-the-art robotics and artificial intelligence technology. It is made to work in a variety of customer service roles, airports, train stations, healthcare facilities, and hospitality, increasing automation and efficiency in these sectors.

By utilizing advanced human behavior intelligence, Tara Gen-1 is able to converse naturally through AI-powered speech recognition, identify and react to human emotions, and make decisions in real time while adjusting to various environments. It works flawlessly in multilingual environments and helps users with customization, navigation, and questions.

The company, based in Kerala, claims that it is also dedicated to empowering the upcoming generation of robotics and AI innovators. The company has started the iHub School of Learning, a platform for teaching and training students in robotics and artificial intelligence. Its goal is to equip 100,000 students with deep-tech skills that will be useful in the future.

In the next two years, iHub Robotics hopes to add more than 150 jobs to India’s deep-tech sector.
