India’s first Web 3.0 Conference: Educated, raised awareness & connected like-minded individuals

AIC-GIM Foundation in collaboration with GirlScript Foundation organised India’s 1st Chain-Agnostic Web 3.0 Conference at the Novotel Casa Sylvia Resort, Cavelossim, Goa from Friday, August 12, to Sunday, August 14, 2022. The Conference drew a large community from all around India, with the majority of attendees being from Gujarat and Delhi.

According to the Economic Survey, Goa is a popular urban state with the highest per capita GDP in the country. Moreover, Goa has seen a rise in the number of remote-working entrepreneurs and professionals. Entrepreneurs and innovators in Goa are integrating cutting-edge technology such as Web3.0 and Blockchain. These elements make Goa a desirable location for fostering the subsequent wave of prosperous Web3 startups. It is therefore beneficial that Goa serves as the City-State to hold this Web3 Conference for the first time in India.

Interviews, pitches, panel discussions, seminars, trainings, showcases, keynote addresses, and Q&As were all included in the conference. Other affiliated partners included the Dydex Foundation, Valist, Nervos, Filecoin, Pandora, and Komet. The conference’s media partners were Goachronicle and Incubees.

After building a product from 0 to 1, Simran Alphonse, a representative of Bitget, discussed the three pillars- core, execution, and visibility. She added that worldwide adoption entails global accessibility, which includes knowing how to adhere to rules, spread knowledge, and work with other nations. Get in touch with the media, she continued, be transparent, and share your story to promote your product.

Access control systems were discussed by Vanshika Rana, representing Valist. Publishing, fetching, secure updates, DAO coordination, and software license NFTs are all components of Web 3 native software distribution. She listed the product’s concerns, including those related to compromise, censorship, availability, centralized payment infrastructure, and high take-rates. Valist coordinates protocols, she added. Valist runs programs and updates software even if and when the servers go down, pleasantly without harming your experience.

Mr Rajesh Joshi, CEO of AIC-GIM Foundation said, “India missed opportunities in Web1 & Web2, as Indian Talent went overseas to BUILD or BUILD for global companies. If you see it’s the Indian talent which has built these Global tech giants. #Web3 is an opportunity for Indian Innovators & Developers to STAY & BUILD in India on Web3 for the world & build the biggest global platforms in Web 3.0 from India. Hence, we take pride in our association to do this conference & we will be a catalyst, enabler for Indian talent to #BuildInIndia for Web3.0”.

According to a NASSCOM report, Web3-related fields will create more than 5,00,000 jobs by 2030.

Anubha Mane, Founder GirlScript Foundation stated, “India has a huge young workforce who are curious to know about new technology, who are go-getters and are constantly looking for role models. My motto behind conducting the first ever web3 conference in India is to introduce the young builders to web3, telling them that it is far vast than just NFTs and Crypto, to introduce them to the right role models in the web3 space and lastly to help them in transitioning their career to web3 by getting opportunities like grants, jobs, internships, etc. Before this, India has never seen a conference and that too a chain agnostic one where more than 12 Blockchain ecosystems spoke about how their ecosystem is progressing”.

The three-day conference was a massive success, allowing members of the Web 3 community in India to connect and learn about one another’s products.
