Japan’s estie, inc. raised $20 M Series B funding from Vertex Growth & DBJ

The Japanese property technology startup estie, inc. announced on Tuesday that it has completed a Series B round of funding totaling JPY 2.8 billion, or roughly $20 million, with the aim of bolstering its growth and expanding its market reach in Southeast Asia.

According to a statement from the business, Vertex Growth, a growth-stage venture capital fund supported by Vertex Holdings, a division of international investment firm Temasek, and the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), spearheaded the most recent round.

Participating in this round were longtime investors Globis Capital Partners (GCP), University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners (UTEC), and Global Brain (GB).

With the additional funding, the company will expedite its multi-product strategy and provide clients in the commercial real estate industry with a comprehensive digital solution.

Strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to take advantage of debt financing opportunities will be made easier by this capital infusion.

Additionally, estie, Inc. will keep hiring top talent.

The company stated that its goal is to further drive digital transformation in Japan’s real estate industry by creating novel leasing and transaction solutions by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) with its proprietary data and software.

Established in 2018, estie, inc. declared that it is taking advantage of the noteworthy prospects resulting from the digital transformation within Japan’s commercial real estate sector.

Japan has one of the biggest real estate markets in the world, which is led by Tokyo, the city with the highest value of real estate globally.

China and the United States lead the global commercial real estate market, with Japan coming in third.

Japan’s access to international capital is restricted despite its sizable asset base due to the lack of data that foreign investors are used to seeing elsewhere.

As per the JLL “Global Real Estate Transparency Index, 2024,” Japan holds the thirty-first position worldwide concerning the accessibility, caliber, comprehensiveness, and transparency of market fundamental data.

By offering a comprehensive data infrastructure, including estie Market Research, one of Japan’s largest open data platforms, the company hopes to close this gap.

estie, inc. intends to increase its footprint in Southeast Asia, beginning in Singapore, as part of its longer-term growth strategy. In the short term, the company wants to give investors in Southeast Asia access to detailed information about Japan’s real estate market.

Looking forward, as a regional player, estie, inc. hopes to become known for providing global real estate investors looking for opportunities throughout Asia with a comprehensive one-stop data platform.

estie, inc. will look for partners and cultivate business relationships by utilizing the combined experience and resources of Vertex Growth’s global network.
